The author has done a wonderful job of constructing plausible characters with enough detail, such as Becca's mother's atricious driving skills, to make them relatable. The plot is well realized, with a clearly defined conflict between the good guys and the bad guys, and enough proper rising and falling action to make the climax appreciated and appropriate. There is even the possiblity for a sequel, which many young readers would likely appreciate. In fact, it is even possible to envision an entire series of tales of Becca and the Mist and possible to imagine the popularity of such a series. This fun read will delight and excite the imagination of young readers everywhere. S. Brooke's gifted writing style prevails in this sequel to her first book "The Diamond Traitors" which makes "The Shadow Diamond" an entertaining read for everyone.
S. Brooke has done it again, delivered a rollicking romp through time and space for two young adventurers, who face challenges, dangers and milestones in growing up. Bravo! Great fictional writing!
